The kanji you find on Japanese Doors...


Here is a kanji you will see on doors everywhere, it is comprised of hand 手 and armor or shell 甲. 

 Reading;  押す (おす)

Meaning; Push


You guessed it!  It`s pull.

Comprised of bow 弓 and bowstring.

Reading; ひく
Meaning; Pull



Now we have two characters, the first means "Self" and the second means "Move".

Reading: じ・どう
Meaning; Automatic (door)
